I hope all my NYC readers are enjoying this beautiful weather we’ve been blessed with the past few days. It docent even feel like the end of February, but more like the beginning of April! Being a Florida gal this warmer weather has made me feel right at home.

I wanted to mention to you all this perfect leather jacket I found at H&M for only $50 (here)!! It’s the perfect jacket for those of you who don’t want to spend $200+ on a jacket and still look downtown chic. A leather jacket is definitely a piece I love to re-wear because you can style it in so many ways! Pair it with a dress to mix hard and soft or rock a casual outfit like I did above. I’m telling you this LJ is a great addition to your closet and a fun piece to play with your style.

I’m also a big fan of stripes-I have one two many striped shirts (but can you really have too many?!) For some reason it was super hard for me to find a stripped long sleeve shirt that was the right style I was looking for until I came across this little number from Shein (here). This shirt is so comfy & such a classic staple piece to have. I want it to become warmer again so I can wear this long sleeve with a leather skirt and black slip ons!

I hope everyone enjoys their last week of February! My boyfriend (who lives in Florida) is coming up this Friday to stay with me for a few days and I can’t wait! We’re planing on venturing around the city to try a bunch of fun coffee cafes and brunch restaurants. I’ll be sure to make a post about my favorites of the ones we try. Do you guys have any favorite NYC coffee cafes/best brunch places to try?? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! 🙂 xx

  1. I’m so glad the weather in NYC has been great lately Alyssa! I absolutely fell in love with this look ever since you posted in on Instagram. It’s so cool that your boyfriend is visiting! Last summer I was actually in NYC with my boyfriend visiting his family. I don’t really remember a coffee shop in specific but I’ve heard that there are so many amazing places in Dumbo, Brooklyn. There’s a place called “One Girl Cookies” that is located in that are, I haven’t been there but I’ve heard great things so you should try it out. How do you deal with a long distance relationship? My boyfriend is going to study to Japan for a year, he’s going to the other side of the world so I don’t think I’ll be able to visit him. Let me know if you try that little coffee shop and your relationship advice! It’s always great to read your blog, it’s my favorite <3

    1. It honestly doesn’t even feel like winter! It’s so great because I hate the cold! Thank you so much for your sweet comment, this is such a perfect casual day outfit I repeat a lot (confession!) Also, I just looked up “One Girl Cookies” and it looks so so cute! I just added it on my list of coffee cafes to try. 🙂 A long distance relationship was something I never wanted to do, but the moment I met my boyfriend I just knew it was the only choice. It’s hard, but we make it work! We text every day, sporadically throughout the day because we’re both pretty busy and we call each other around 3 times a week. We actually started off as a long distance relationship and have been for he past year and a half. Finally I’m graduating and we won’t have to be long distance! My advice for long distance would be to always be open when you chat over the phone and communicate everything you want to say because then you’ll both be on the same page. It’s different in a long distance relationship because you are solely relying on communication to feel close. 🙂 Thank you so much for your comments-I seriously always look forward to them! xx

    1. Thank you! I think they’re called Pom poms, but a lot of brands name them differently too. So glad you enjoyed it! xx

  2. We absolutely love your outfit! We got a similar leather jacket from Zara! Those jackets are perfect for the spring! And we love the beanie, it adds a touch of colour! Thank you for the inspiration and keep with the great work! Your blog is awesome!

    1. Thank you so much! A girl can never have one too many leather jackets. I’m so glad you stopped by & enjoyed it! I love your site as well. xx

  3. Very cool outfit! I like the way you wear your heavy winter coat over your leather jacket. I was planning a very similar ensemble for Saturday, when I plan to roam around NYC. I think I might add in a leather jacket. Thanks for the inspiration! XO, Janea

    1. Thanks, Janea! Layering is key to surviving NYC winters, but this year it hasn’t been that bad! So glad you enjoyed it. xx
